Modesto City Schools leveraged The Mobility House's charging and energy management solution, ChargePilot®, to optimize charging strategies for the district's new electric bus fleet. With grant funding from California’s Hybrid and Zero-Emission Truck and Bus Voucher Incentive Project (HVIP), Modesto invested $14 million to purchase 30 Blue Bird electric buses – the largest single order in Blue Bird history – replacing nearly half of its existing diesel fleet. The project's construction and engineering was completed by Schneider Electric.

"Our sustainability initiatives to reduce air pollution in our community are also an important step in introducing the next generation of students to cleaner transportation. I’m proud of Modesto City Schools for leading by example and becoming the first district in Stanislaus County to integrate zero-emission buses into the school system."

Tim Zearley,

Associate superintendent of business services, Modesto City Schools
